Assistant Management Accountant | Greater Manchester | Retail Group | £30,000 - £35,0000 | Hybrid + Study Support

The Group Assistant Management Accountant will assist the Group Management Accountant in providing accurate and timely financial information to the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, assisting with budget preparation and analysis, maintaining financial records, and analysing financial data to identify trends and potential areas of concern.

Day to Day;

  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts for the Group, including variance analysis and commentary on actual performance versus budget and forecast

  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecast, including consolidation of subsidiary budgets and forecasts

  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports for the Group, including monthly management accounts, Board reports and investor presentations

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for the Group, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner

  • Assist with the preparation of financial models and analysis for the Group, including sensitivity analysis and scenario planning

  • Assist with the review and analysis of financial data to identify trends and potential areas of concern

  • Liaise with other departments within the Group to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis

  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as required

Successful Candidate;

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Finance, or similar

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA or CIMA), or AAT qualified looking to further study

  • Experience in a similar role within a finance function

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
