Job Description: Financial Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and finalise completion accounts, determine final payments, and continuously monitor and calculate forecasted contingent payments.
- Oversee the external audit process for acquired entities, ensuring the high-quality preparation and timely submission of audited financial statements.
- Prepare and submit financial reports to regulators for regulated entities within the group.
- Perform month-end reconciliations and journal postings for acquired entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support the group consolidation process, assist with statutory accounting, and contribute to other group financial reporting requirements.
- Provide key financial data and insights to support corporation tax reporting and compliance.
- Assist with the group’s external audit process, collaborating with auditors to provide required documentation and support.
- Aid in integrating the finance functions of newly acquired companies into the group’s existing processes and systems.
- Identify, document, and implement opportunities for process improvements within the finance team’s systems and controls.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be qualified (ACA/ACCA) with experience from a reputable accounting firm.
- Proven experience in preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP, ideally within an accounting firm.
- Experience supporting audit processes and preparing management accounts.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102, with a solid understanding of UK financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in consolidations and accounting for acquisitions.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
