Interim Finance Business Partner- 9-12 Month Contract (Possibility of a temp to perm)- Up to £75k plus 15% Bonus- Walton-on-Thames (Hybrid)- ACCA/CIMA/ACA

A well known client in their industry is looking to hire an interim Finance Business Partner to join them on a long term contract to provide BAU cover due to maternity leave. 

The role is highly focused on being a key business partner to the senior operational stakeholders within a 9 figure revenue business unit helping to drive business efficiency, understand

financials and aid key decision making. 

Key Responsibilities Include: 

  • Oversee the end-to-end financial performance of the business, ensuring full ownership of the income statement, balance sheet, and cash management, with a strong focus on compliance with IFRS and liquidity optimisation.

  • Deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting, maintaining robust financial controls and providing clarity and confidence to support internal and external audits.

  • Serve as a trusted finance advisor to senior operational and commercial leaders, helping translate financial data into clear insights to support strategic and tactical decision making.

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycles, collaborating cross-functionally to develop realistic, data-driven plans and highlight variances, risks, and areas for improvement.

  • Carry out deep-dive financial analysis and scenario modelling to inform business cases, investment decisions, pricing strategies, and operational efficiency initiatives.

  • Play an active role in customer and commercial discussions, providing financial input to negotiations and identifying ways to protect and grow profitability.

  • Continuously assess and enhance finance processes, driving automation, consistency, and high-quality reporting to support a culture of continuous improvement.


Key Requirements Needed: 

  • A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) and at least 7 years of post-qualified experience in a commercially engaged finance role.

  • A strong background in financial reporting, planning, and business analysis, with a clear ability to bridge the gap between finance and operations.

  • Demonstrated success in partnering with senior stakeholders, offering financial guidance that improves commercial outcomes and supports operational priorities.

  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP and BI tools such as Power BI would be beneficial.

  • Experience working in construction, engineering, facilities management, utilities or business services industries is highly desirable.

  • A confident communicator with a collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex data for varied audiences.
